Everyday we here that out of millions that pass out of India’s educational institutes, very few are employable and job ready! The recent recession had worsened the situation, but things aren’t looking bright even today. Business leaders and providers of talent management solutions need to refocus their attention towards this talent crunch and discuss solutions.
The need of the hour is to look for partnership between universities and the industry to enhance talent development, and to continuously build engagement to limit this widening gap. Several magazines with articles on talent management have stressed on the need for our educational institutes to regularly update their curriculum according to the changing market demands, and make them more relevant to the industry. For this to happen, both private and public sector must come together and work to fill up the L&D gap (Learning & Development), to keep India’s growth engine chugging.
